Mr. John Lockwood '65
I attended Loyola University of Maryland when it was Loyola College and all male.
I majored in mathematics since it was the subject that interested me most, and I did relatively well in throughout my school years.
I grew up in North Baltimore and migrated to Hillendale in the mid-50s. I have stayed in the northern part of Baltimore County ever since.
I wanted to do something that allowed me to be involved with students, and I found teaching and coaching to be those professions. Plus I had some skills in math and could put them to use. I feel that through the many years I have taught, there are a large number of students that have been and are successful adults.
Having graduated from CHC in '65 and taught for 36 years in Howard County (44 years total), subbing at CHC seemed the natural thing to do, and when the opportunity to teach full-time was available, I thought I'd give it a try.
My favorite sports team of all time is the Baltimore Colts, having grown up going to Memorial Stadium. So I do follow the Ravens now.
I still bowl (duckpins), play a little golf, and when possible relax at the beach.
Just being part of the brotherhood that is Calvert Hall (the class of '65 still meets once or twice a year for lunch) and participating in the great activities that take place here and in the community.
