We asked 5 seniors: what is the most difficult exam you have ever taken, and why?
Andrew Sontag
A: My hardest exam has definitely been Greco’s Honors English II. There were only 10 questions. Each question was about a passage that I had never read before. For each one I had to identify what literary era it was from; that means I could write one, maybe two words per answer. Less than 20 total words accounting for 20% of my semester grade? Terrifying.
Conner Dawson
A: The hardest exam I’ve ever taken is easily chemistry in my Sophomore year. I knew that I would not be able to pass if I didn’t memorize the large number of formulas. Even after memorizing all the formulas I needed, the exam was still a big challenge.
Parker Byrd
A: I feel that the hardest exam I have ever taken was my Algebra 2 final exam in the end of my Junior year. I say this because Algebra 2 required a lot of conceptual thinking about how numbers work rather than pure computation. This was a much different way of thinking about math than I had experienced in my past classes. It took a lot of time and effort to understand the content and excel on the exam.
Logan Curtis
A: The most difficult exam I’ve ever taken was the Chemistry final in my Sophomore year. It was really hard because of the amount of formulas I had to memorize and concepts that were complicated and not easy to think about.
Nick Bush
A: My hardest exam was the Precalculus midterm I took last year as a Junior. I wasn’t able to completely understand all the concepts that I was taught. This mixed with a strenuous time limit truly made this exam my hardest.
